第61集 溫度計 (Thermometer)

1. This is a digital thermometer.

   這是一個電子溫度計。

2. It’s used to take body temperature.

   它被用來量體溫。

3. This one is meant for the ear.

   這一個是用來測量耳溫的。

4. You do this via this earpiece.

   你透過這個耳溫槍來量耳溫。

5. To use this, basically hit this button, which is the on button.

   要使用這個，基本上只要按下這個按鈕，那是啟動按鈕。

6. Stick it in your ear and press the other button.

   將它放入你的耳朵，並且按下另外一個按鈕。

7. When it beeps, you can take it out and there’ll be a digital readout of your temperature.

   當它發出嗶嗶聲時，你就可以將它拿出來。將會有一個顯示你體溫的電子數據出現。

8. They are much more convenient and quicker than the traditional style,  which is mercury based. 

   他們比傳統水銀式的溫度計更為方便和快速。

第62集 美國國旗 (American Flag)

1. This is an American flag.

   這是一面美國的國旗。

2. The fifty starts represent the fifty states.

   這五十顆星星代表五十州。

3. The stripes, of which there’s thirteen ,represent the original 13 colonies that rebelled against the British Crown.

   十三條條紋代表最早反抗英國皇室的十三個殖民地。

4. Flags are often seen hanging at schools or governmental buildings.

   經常可看到國旗懸掛在學校或是政府機構的建築物上。

5. The flag is very representative of Independence Day, 4th of July.

   這面國旗代表著美國獨立紀念日。獨立紀念日在七月四日。

第63集 鹽罐 (Salt Shaker)

1. This is a porcelain figurine of a moose.

   這是一瓷器的麋鹿小雕像。

2. This one also serves as a salt shaker.

   這也被當做鹽罐使用。

3. As you can see, there are holes on the top and a hole on the bottom.

   如你所見，在頂端上面有孔，在底部也有一個孔。

4. The holes on the top are for pouring out.

   在頂端的孔是用來倒出來的。

5. The hole on the bottom is for putting salt in. 

   底部的孔是用來添加鹽的地方。

6. My friend Susan received this as a gift.

   我的朋友蘇珊收到這個鹽罐的禮物。

7. And when she received it, it was wrapped in bubble wrap.

   當她收到它時，它是用氣泡墊包裹起來的。

8. That is because it is delicate or fragile and easy break.

   這是因為它很脆或是易碎的，並且很容易打破。

9. So it was wrapped up in bubble wrap.

10. So it would not break.

第64集 月餅 (Mooncake)

1. This is a mooncake. It’s a traditional snack at this time of the year. It is Moon Festival time.

2. Now, these happened to be made by one of the ladies that works here in the school.

現在這些月餅恰巧是一位在學校工作的女士所製作的。

3. Most people buy these at a store or a bakery.

大多數人會在商店裡購買月餅或是在麵包店。

4. They can have several fillings in these things.

他們可以放許多餡料在這些月餅中。

5. Traditional filling is red bean paste or taro.

傳統餡料是紅豆沙或芋頭。

6. I’m told these are made with egg yolks on the inside and the principal is cutting one open right now.

有人告訴我這裡面包蛋黃而校長現在正把一個月餅切開。

7. And yes, it has egg yolk in it.

沒錯，裡面有蛋黃。

8. This is a common gift at this time of the year.

這是每年這時候一個常見的禮物。

9. Most people if you go someplace to visit friends, you will take a box of mooncakes.

大多數人如果到某處去拜訪朋友，你會帶著一盒月餅。

10. They come in different sizes.

月餅有不同的大小。

11. Some are small like this. Some are bigger around and a little flatter.

有些像這個一樣小。有一些比較大而且稍微薄一點。

12. The fillings inside would be the same.

13. Recently they have started putting fruit fillings in these.

14. You can get these with mango filling in them, which probably twenty years ago you wouldn’t have found.

第65集 柚子 (Pomelo)

1. Hello. We’re gonna introduce you to a fruit called the pomelo.

哈囉，我們將為你介紹一種叫做柚子的水果。

2. It’s Moon Festival time here in Taiwan and this is a traditional food that you eat at that time of the year.

現在在台灣這裡是中秋節的時候而這是一種傳統的水果，你會在每年的這個時候吃到。

3. This is what they look like before you peel them. 

在你撥開皮之前這是他們的樣子。

4. This is what they look like after you peel them and the principal is cutting it and she will take the outside or peel off it.

在你撥開皮之後這是他們的樣子，校長正在切柚子然後她會將外皮拿掉或剝除。

5. Now, they have a rather unique flavor. When you eat these, they taste something like a grapefruit, but not completely like a grapefruit.

6. Grapefruits are a little sour, these are not.

7. The skin on the pomelo on the inside is very tough and chewy.

8. When you break it apart, you peel one side of the skin off and you eat the fruit on the inside.

9. You don’t eat the skin. Pretty good tasting. And they’re quite large. These are not overly large.

13. First reason is the driver is now responsible for what people think this bus is doing.
